BAGGAGE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR VIPI FLY USERSAt VIPI FLY, the safety, comfort, and peace of mind of our users are our top priorities. This guide is designed to ensure every detail of your trip is handled with care, backed by our team at every stage of your experience.
On both domestic and international flights, users may carry baggage in line with VIPI FLY recommendations, as detailed below.
1. Baggage limit.a) We recommend using a carry-on bag (55 cm x 40 cm x 25 cm) with a maximum weight of 12 kg.
b) You may bring hand luggage with a maximum weight of 5 kg, which may include:
- Small bags: purse, wallet, regular backpack, tote bag, slim briefcases for documents or laptops.
- Electronic devices: laptop, tablet, mobile phone with accessories (charger and headphones), cameras without bulky cases.
- Valuables: jewelry, watches, medicines or personal medical kits (include prescription), cash (for domestic flights there is no limit, but for international flights the limit is 10,000 USD, which must be declared; not declaring this amount may result in fines).
- Comfort items during the flight: sunglasses, reading glasses, jackets, coats, and minimal personal hygiene items.
2. Dangerous items:- Explosives, fireworks, or flares.
- Flammable substances (gasoline, paints, aerosols).
- Corrosive chemicals (acids, bleach).
- Compressed gases (except authorized medical oxygen).
- Fuel containers.
- Flammable liquids.
- Firearms or ammunition without proper authorization. When authorization exists, a process must be carried out with ARPEL consisting of the following steps:
The National Guard agent(s) will carry out the corresponding inspection, which includes the physical verification of the weapon and the documentation that proves its ownership and legal carrying permit. In some cases, this procedure may take place at the National Guard facilities.
The carrier must present a valid official ID and the firearm carrying permit.
The officer will complete the corresponding form and, once the inspection is completed, boarding will be authorized.
d) The procedure takes approximately 30 minutes, so you are requested to arrive with sufficient time in advance. In case of delay, we appreciate timely notice.
e) This procedure must be performed at each airport visited. Depending on the location and local regulations, the National Guard may decide to carry out the inspection at their offices instead of at the FBO (if available) or General Aviation ramp.
In some airports, an additional inspection by SEDENA may also be required, in line with current security regulations.
2.1 Bulky items not coordinated in your ticket:- XXL hard suitcases (difficult to store).
- Unreported sports equipment (surfboards, kayaks).
- Large musical instruments (double basses, pianos).
- Large furniture or artwork.
2.2 Regulated goods:- Illegal drugs or controlled substances.
- Animal/plant products without certification.
- Illegally traded items (stolen antiques).
3. Extra baggage. If the operator you are flying with allows additional baggage, the option to add it will appear during the seat purchase process, both in the app and on the website.
a) Extra baggage should be the size of a typical carry-on suitcase with an approximate weight between 10 and 12 kg. This capacity may vary depending on the air operator, so we recommend checking their specific guidelines before your flight.
b) Transporting extra baggage will generate an additional cost, which varies according to the policies of the operator. If this option is not available, it means the operator does not allow extra baggage for that flight.
c) Do not include prohibited items in your extra baggage (as mentioned in the dangerous items section).
d) If you need to travel with medical equipment, notify us in advance of the type of device. It must be portable and comply with onboard safety and space requirements.
If you need to transport bulky or specialized medical equipment, we suggest considering an air ambulance option to ensure a safer and more comfortable experience tailored to your medical needs.
5. Special baggageOn private flights, special baggage requires extra consideration due to its size or value. Transporting this type of baggage will incur additional costs, which will vary depending on the operator’s policies.
Operators will indicate whether their aircraft can carry special equipment. This will depend on the conditions they provide. Based on that, additional space can be purchased to transport the following categories:
To avoid issues, we suggest not including any prohibited items in your baggage.
Examples of special baggage:
- Musical instruments (such as guitars, violins, saxophones, etc.).
- Sports equipment (skis, surfboards, bicycles, golf equipment, etc.).
- Artwork or fragile pieces.
- Professional photographic or film equipment.
- Medical or assistive equipment.
- Large or heavy suitcases or containers.
